State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak prefers to see himself as a startup minister. He said this while addressing the final session of the fifth round of Banglalink Innovators competition on Thursday. "I also consider myself as a startup minister," he said. `So, let me present a small presentation about the innovation ecosystem in Bangladesh, startup scenario of  Bangladesh. So I thought I should also go thru a presentation. Let me pitch before our respected judges. And let me see what would be my score after my presentation. But, definitely our young innovators you don't need to be worried; so I am not going to win the crown'. Referring to Bangabandhu and Steve Jobs, the Minister of State in the presentation titled 'Value of Innovation' on the country's innovation ecosystem and startup situation highlighted the country's economic growth over the last 12 years. Palak highlights the differences between as innovation, invention and discovery, emphasizing innovation and innovation in the invention. During this time he looks at how Thomas Alva Edison invented the electric bulb and increased its power by 100 percent. The state minister for information and communication technology, referring to the contestants, said, "It is not age or experience but the talent that matters. It does not matter age, religion, education or money; The thing is if you have talent, innovation, wisdom, perseverance then you can conquer the whole world. ' "Technology and innovation will be the driving force of the fourth industrial revolution," Palak said. Where the wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is going to push our employment, we must remember that we cannot stop the current, but we can surf.
The ICT Minister urged the parents to make their children interested in the subject, saying "IT experts or inventors are now helping doctors or engineers". Palak also thanked Augie K. Fabela, Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Vion, a Banglalink-mother company, and Eric Aas, CEO, of Banglalink for their support to the ICT department in implementing the incubator concept in the country.
He also mentioned the plan to set up 51 'Edutainment Centers' at the district level. It was informed on the occasion that Banglalink is preparing for 5G. To that end, the company is setting up 3,000 new BTSs across the country. With the importance of data, Banglalink has already become the best in internet speed thrice.
Crossing various hurdles, the best five teams came up for the Grand Finale, where they presented their ideas for the next big change in the telecom sector. The Jury board named the top three teams after evaluating all performances. Team Hustlers took first place, while Team Three Musketeers and Team Spearhead were named the first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
